The family house is situated in the lower part of a sloping plot, aiming to maximize the views of the landscape, utilize the garden, and provide a sense of privacy for its occupants. The central theme of the building is its integration into the character of the surrounding development, emphasizing the utilization of the plot’s advantages and the natural utilization of the garden. Therefore, the house is designed as a three-story structure with a rectangular footprint, nestled into the terrain and featuring walkable green roofs.
The layout is intentionally organized into zones according to the floors. The first underground floor houses the main entrance, a spacious garage, technical facilities, and a spa area. On the second floor, the daytime living zone is located, consisting of a living room connected to the kitchen and dining area. This design ensures that both longer glazed facades offer maximum views of the garden or the Tichá Šárka valley. Additionally, there is a study (guest room) and a bathroom with a toilet on this floor. The third floor accommodates the tranquil zone, including two children’s rooms, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet, and a bathroom. All rooms are oriented towards the garden with access to a rooftop terrace.
The mass of the house is composed of three stacked boxes with different angles of orientation, creating a rhythmic and visually pleasing appearance. The overlaps of the individual boxes also provide protection against overheating through their large glazed areas set in anthracite aluminum frames. The facade combines light-colored plaster and wooden slats, while the first floor features a stone cladding.
