The brief also included the design of basic exterior features such as the outdoor covered terrace, swimming pool and the position of the summerhouse and garden house. The site is located in the middle of the village with a beautiful view of the Baroque pilgrimage church of St. Ludmilla on the opposite hill. The design of the house respects the surrounding buildings. The family house stands in place of the original building and its volume creates privacy in the southern part of the garden. The main living space runs across the house, opening out to the north towards the view and also to the garden to the south.
From the living area, a staircase leads to a gallery with a reading room and a study. Below the gallery on the ground floor is the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing room.
On the other side of the living room are two children’s bedrooms with a space open to the truss. Their area is thus extended by the space upstairs for sleeping and playing. From these rooms there is also a beautiful view of the church. The basement of the original building is partly preserved and turned into a wine bar. This space is complemented by new rooms for storage, utility equipment and a garage.
All walking areas around the house are also paved, but we keep the maximum of the land as a grassy area. To the north, we hide a garden house between the house and the wall, which does not take up space in an attractive part of the garden. The fencing follows the retaining wall with its stone base and is crowned with simple wooden slats. Parking is on the plot behind sliding metal gates with an integrated entrance gate.
