The villa in the Šárka Valley grows organically from the topography of the hillside, becoming a natural part of the landscape. The architectural concept draws on the potential of a south-facing plot with panoramic views over the slopes of Šárka, developing a harmonious dialogue between the house and nature.
The fundamental principle of the building is a horizontal composition of rectangular volumes that unfold along the contour line, responding to light, views, and the family’s daily life. From the street, the house is compact and sheltered; towards the landscape, it opens through generous glazed surfaces. The architecture creates a sequence of spaces and vistas that shift over time, naturally connecting the interior with the surrounding nature.
The main living floor is formed by a generously open living space connected to an atrium, gardens, and a swimming pool that extends as a horizontal line into the landscape. The space offers layered views, natural light, and a strong connection to the exterior.
The upper floor consists of three separate volumes that provide privacy for individual family members while completing the distinctive silhouette of the house on the hillside. Their placement responds to cardinal directions, views, and the desired degree of privacy.
The material palette is defined by refined restraint: light mineral plaster, stone, bronze, and teak create an atmosphere of calm, elegance, and timelessness. Natural materials reinforce the connection between the house and its setting, contributing to its lasting quality.
The villa is conceived as a smart, technologically advanced, and energy self-sufficient home. It combines a high level of occupant comfort, sustainable operation, and a clean architectural aesthetic – a building firmly anchored in the landscape, yet open to light and life within.
